About the position

The Senior Health Economics Analyst at ChenMed is responsible for delivering data-driven insights and analytical support to executive leadership. This role focuses on leveraging data to create business intelligence, identifying risks and opportunities, and making strategic recommendations in the Medicare Advantage and healthcare industry. The position offers significant impact and advancement potential within the Finance organization.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret enrollment, revenue, and claims data to identify and solve business problems.
  • Partner with finance and business leaders to create benchmarks for monitoring medical cost trends and variances.
  • Prepare and analyze medical cost data to develop presentations for executive management, articulating actionable recommendations.
  • Track performance of medical cost Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for assigned Divisions/Departments.
  • Leverage data analytics and modeling to test and validate medical cost strategies and initiatives.
  • Work with Analytics and IT teams to validate data and enhance medical cost reports and tools.
  • Build strong relationships with leaders to support problem resolution regarding medical cost issues.
  • Support finance in the annual and multi-year planning process, including development of medical cost targets and projections.
  • Analyze emerging medical cost results and forecast their impact on future periods.
  • Prepare ad-hoc analysis for claims and KPIs of medical costs for executive leadership.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Effective organization skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to interpret organizational needs and communicate actionable insights through analytics.
  • Ability to develop impactful presentations.
  • Strong financial acumen and attention to detail.
  • Extensive knowledge of healthcare/medical economics data and coding systems.
  • Experience with SQL, PowerBI, and Qlikview preferred.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Data Analytics, or Economics; MBA preferred.
  • Experience in a Medicare Advantage, Hospital Systems, or risk-based healthcare organization.
