About the position
The Senior Full Stack Engineer at The College Board will be a key member of the Digital Assessment team, responsible for developing innovative technology solutions that enhance accessibility in higher education. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders to improve and define applications used by millions of students globally. The engineer will engage in all phases of software engineering, from requirements analysis to deployment, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning within the team.
Responsibilities
- Lead and collaborate with the Digital Assessment team to enhance and define applications for student assessments.
- Engage in all phases of software engineering including requirements definition, application design, coding, testing, and deployment.
- Coach and mentor less experienced teammates in new technologies and best practices.
- Utilize strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to inform decisions and actions.
- Work in an Agile/Scrum environment, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving skills.
- Experience with JavaScript (React and Node), Python, and TypeScript.
- Strong knowledge of AWS cloud platform and experience with AWS resources such as Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, etc.
- Experience with version control using Git and test automation.
- Ability to learn new technologies and communicate effectively.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in a Mob development environment.
- Familiarity with AWS CLI, AWS CloudFormation, and/or AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK).
