About the position

The Beck Group is seeking two high-performance individuals to join the Finance and Accounting team to support Beck's corporate function, as well as seven regional offices. The financial analyst will be responsible for analyzing financial data, preparing budget and financial projections, and preparing regular and ad-hoc reports for financial decision-making. This position will assist Operations in understanding their projects' financial position and opportunities/risks. This position is a highly visible role blending accounting, financial planning and analysis, as well as risk mitigation in the commercial construction and architecture space.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the WIP and Budget/Forecasting support materials.
  • Work closely with the project manager(s) to understand and analyze project costs and drivers that affect project profitability.
  • Analyze monthly G&A and prepare G&A budgets and forecasts.
  • Review monthly WIP schedules, analyze monthly P&L variances and BIE/CIE.
  • Provide financial projections by coordinating budget/forecast preparation; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial information; advising project manager(s) with analysis of data.
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends as well as special topics as they arise.
  • Generate financial and operational dashboards using business intelligence tools.
  • Support quarterly project reviews by preparing financial reports and scheduling meetings between corporate and regional leaders.
  • Provide support services over the subcontractor prequalification function and assist with other related tasks when necessary.
  • Provide support for project setup internal controls.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance is required.
  • 3 - 5 years relevant experience required.
  • Construction and/or Architecture Experience preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products: Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, SharePoint.
  • Strong Excel skills in order to maintain spreadsheets.
  • Proficiency with electronic accounting systems is preferred (Familiarity with CMiC is a plus).
  • Understanding of US GAAP, Financial Modeling, ERP, and Forecasting Tools.
  • Must be detail and deadline oriented, possess strong research skills, self-motivated team player with a can-do attitude who brings energy and enthusiasm and ability to work well under pressure.
  • Ability to engage with leadership at all levels with professionalism.

Nice-to-haves

  • Construction and/or Architecture Experience preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with CMiC is a plus.
