The CDFW Cannabis Restoration Grant Program is seeking two highly motivated Senior Environmental Scientist (Specialists) with a passion for conservation and collaboration and interest in contributing meaningful work to support a statewide team focused on the CDFW mission and shaping the cannabis grant program. Under the direction of a Cannabis Restoration Grant Program (CRGP) Supervisor, the Specialist serves in a lead scientific role as part of a statewide team to manage grant funded projects in northern California, transition program data to a new database, and provide technical assistance to applicants that will support and accelerate the planning and implementation of conservation priorities across the state. The Specialist will assist in creating measurable efficiency improvements, establish restoration priorities, update guidelines and criteria, track monitoring successes at the project and landscape levels, document ecological co-benefits arising from grant funded restoration projects using biological and environmental criteria, conduct site visits, engage with stakeholders and tribes, and lead outreach efforts. The Specialist is expected to work in an independent capacity while fostering team effort related to program implementation.
