In your role, you may work from the following Medtronic sites: • Tijuana, Mexico • Villalba, Puerto Rico • Minneapolis, Minnesota This role will require up to 25% of travel to enhance collaboration and ensure successful completion of projects As part of the Manufacturing Innovation & Technology (MIT) team within Medtronic’s Operations Innovation organization, the Sr. Engineering Manager, integrated Center of Excellence (iCOE) Polymer Shaping & Molding (PSM), leads an integrated team advancing polymer molding, micro-molding, and additive polymer manufacturing technologies from concept through scalable deployment. This role drives both hands-on technology development and enterprise manufacturing strategy, overseeing feasibility, process development, and transfer into manufacturing and NPI while defining long-term investment and capability roadmaps. In close partnership with R&D, R&T, AME, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain, the Sr. Manager ensures the delivery of compliant, scalable, and high-impact manufacturing solutions, translating innovation into measurable operational value through a team of technical SMEs and strategic leaders. May develop, evaluate, implement and maintain technical quality assurance and control systems or reliability systems and standards pertaining to materials, techniques, or company products. Oversees the investigation and evaluation of existing manufacturing technologies. Guides the conceptualization of new manufacturing methodologies, materials, machines, processes or products. Directs the development of new concepts from initial design to market release. Manages feasibility studies of the design to determine if capable of functioning as intended. Monitors documentation maintenance throughout all phases of manufacturing technology research and development. Organizes the coordination of activities with outside suppliers and consultants to ensure timely delivery. Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Requirements

7+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of experience with an advanced degree
5+ years of managerial experience

Nice To Haves

Deep expertise in polymer molding, micro-molding, and/or additive polymer manufacturing technologies
Experience developing and deploying manufacturing technologies from concept through commercialization or NPI
Demonstrated ability to build and execute technology roadmaps tied to enterprise strategy and investment planning
Experience working across R&D, R&T, AME, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain in a matrixed/global environment
Familiarity with medical device regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, ISO) and design control processes
Experience with external ecosystem engagement (vendors, academia, industry partnerships) for technology scouting and development
Proven ability to translate technical advancements into measurable business value (cost, quality, scalability, speed)
Strong communication skills with experience presenting to and influencing senior leadership
Track record of developing high-performing technical teams and mentoring engineering talent
