The Electric Engineering department ensures all aspects of electric engineering, including standards, process safety, design, instrumentation, controls, undergrounding, regulatory compliance, and investment planning, are in place to safely support a strategic and stable workplan for Electric Operations partners. This organization is responsible for program planning, financial budgeting, and project execution for all electric engineering projects, and it comprises approximately 2,000 coworkers. This position is represented by Engineers and Scientists of America (ESC) and is subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The role involves performing a comprehensive range of advanced-level duties requiring a high degree of expertise, independent judgment, and decision-making. It often includes providing guidance, mentorship, or oversight to employees in lower classifications, with a significant level of autonomy and minimal supervision. This is a hybrid position, requiring work from a remote office and the assigned work location within the PG&E Service Territory based on business needs. The hourly rate range for this position is $59.44 to $65.81, subject to collectively bargained wage increases.
