About the position

At Raytheon, our mission is to help our nation and allies defend freedoms and deter aggression. The System Engineering Directorate plays a crucial role in Mission Systems Integration activities, focusing on defining customer needs, functional and product architecture, requirements definition and decomposition, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), system performance, and System Security Engineering (SSE). We are currently seeking a Systems Engineer to join our team, specifically for the SPY-6 Family of Radars and the GhostEye family of radars. This position is essential for executing integration and analysis activities, where the selected candidate will be responsible for identifying issues, generating solutions, and verifying that these solutions are implemented as designed. The role involves developing concepts of operations for radar systems, radar software requirements development, and conducting statistical and numerical analysis of radar performance data. The engineer will also be tasked with analysis tool development to support problem identification and resolution. Collaboration with Systems and Software Engineers is key to developing and implementing effective solutions. Additional focus areas for these radar systems include signal processing and waveform design, electronic protection methods, phased array and digital beamforming technology, radar search, track and discrimination design, target and threat modeling, and integration and testing of large radar systems. This position requires daily on-site support and is not open to hybrid or remote work options. Candidates typically require a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with 5 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field with 3 years of relevant experience. A PhD can account for 5 years of experience as required for this position. An active and in-scope Secret US security clearance is also required, and only US citizens are eligible for this clearance. The ideal candidate will have experience with the design, development, and analysis of radar system and software architectures, including antenna, receiver/exciter, waveforms, digital beamforming, multi-sensor track management and data fusion, adaptive signal processing, clutter mitigation techniques, electronic attack and electronic protection, sensor resource management, and mission planning. Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, and C++ is essential, along with experience in technical writing and oral presentations.
