The Senior Engineer and Site Lead is responsible for overseeing operations, managing change control processes, and ensuring compliance with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) of the Fire Alarms Network (FARS) and ICS Network (CRIISP), Industrial Control Software (ICS), and servers at the Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field preferred. Additional years of experience may be used in lieu of a degree.
  • 7+ years’ experience in systems engineering, network administration, or cybersecurity roles.
  • Must meet DoD 8140 Information Assurance Technical Level III requirements.
  • Microsoft Server certification, nix/BSD certification, and IDS/IPS certification at the time of start.
  • Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top-Secret clearance.
  • Ability to participate in 24/7 on-call rotations, serving weekly in Primary, Secondary, and Off roles for continuous coverage.
  • Experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) compliance and configuration management.
  • Proficiency in networking (CISCO), virtualization (VMware/KVM), and operating systems (Windows, Linux).
  • Familiarity with security tools such as Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Nessus, and SIEM platforms.
  • Understanding of Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes and DoD cybersecurity directives.
  • Expertise in configuration management principles and change control methodologies.
  • Knowledge of networking technologies (Cisco, OSPF, BGP), firewalls (Palo Alto), and virtualization platforms (VMware, KVM).
  • Industrial Control System and Fire Alarm Reporting System administration.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills that include the ability to interact with a wide variety of key stakeholders to ensure timely responses for all communications and deliverables across all projects.
  • Superb planning, coordination, and organizational skills.
  • Results-driven with a positive attitude and a high degree of initiative and responsiveness.
  • Ability to multitask, meet tight deadlines, and attend to details while staying focused on key priorities and management.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.
  • Must demonstrate good judgment and a pragmatic approach to delivering a solution that optimizes architecture activities across company needs, business constraints, and technological realities.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily system operations to ensure availability, reliability, and compliance with organizational standards.
  • Manage and enforce change control processes, including review and approval of Methods of Procedure for system updates and modifications.
  • Ensure adherence to RMF requirements by coordinating artifact production, documentation, and audit readiness activities.
  • Act as the configuration manager, maintaining accurate system baselines and configuration records.
  • Serve as the primary interface with government stakeholders.
  • Lead incident response efforts, ensuring timely communication and resolution of critical issues.
  • Provide accurate and timely documentation of system changes, compliance artifacts, and operational reports for internal and external audits.
  • Provide guidance to engineering staff, fostering cross-training and knowledge sharing to maintain operational resilience.
  • Other duties as assigned.
