About the position

The Senior Project Manager Engineer at Tetra Tech will lead a dynamic team of engineers and scientists in delivering civil and geotechnical engineering services focused on environmental restoration, land development, and water resources in the Mid-Atlantic Region. This role requires extensive experience in managing complex engineering projects, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, and fostering client relationships while contributing to innovative solutions for sustainable development.

Responsibilities

  • Manage municipal and federal projects, ensuring compliance with state environmental requirements.
  • Perform site-specific evaluations, assessments, engineering studies, design proposals, and project execution services.
  • Participate in environmental restoration project design developments, ensuring deadlines are met and collaboration among team members.
  • Prepare remedial designs, feasibility studies, and remedial action completion reports, with familiarity in water quality modeling.
  • Provide team leadership and manage multidisciplinary teams across various geographic locations.
  • Exhibit exceptional organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Prepare multidisciplinary design plans, specifications, cost estimates, technical documents, and contracts.
  • Engage in business development to attract new clients and maintain existing relationships, employing a multidisciplinary marketing approach.
  • Supervise and manage project teams, ensuring effective project delivery.
  • Participate in the professional community to enhance the Tetra Tech brand.

Requirements

  • Professional Engineer (PE) credential required, with PE in Pennsylvania, New York, or New Jersey (or ability to obtain within one year).
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressively managing complex engineering projects.
  • Experience in preparing construction drawings, specifications, calculations, and cost estimates.
  • Ability to navigate state regulatory approval processes for stormwater and wastewater discharges.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D for producing grading plans and other civil engineering documents.
  • Experience with ArcGIS for spatial analysis and data visualization.
  • Recent experience in designing sustainable green infrastructure solutions.
  • Strong work ethic, problem-solving skills, and effective time management abilities.
  • Valid driver's license and US citizenship due to contractual requirements.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree (e.g., MS, PhD) in engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience providing engineering support to municipalities and federal agencies like EPA and USACE.
  • Familiarity with PADEP, NJDEP, and NYSDEC agency requirements for hazardous waste remediation.
