About the position

The Senior Electrical Engineer at Primient will lead the design, development, and reliability improvement of electrical power systems for various industrial applications. This role is crucial for ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of power generation and distribution systems, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of electrical power generation/distribution systems and associated instrumentation.
  • Develop detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts.
  • Specify and select electrical components, such as transformers, circuit breakers, motor starters, drives, and control devices.
  • Integrate electrical systems with mechanical systems and other subsystems.
  • Manage multiple projects from concept to completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
  • Collaborate with project managers, maintenance/reliability teams, procurement teams, and other stakeholders to coordinate project activities.
  • Oversee the testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of electrical systems.
  • Develop and execute test plans for new and replacement power generation and distribution systems.
  • Provide technical support and guidance for the maintenance and troubleshooting of existing systems.
  • Develop preventive maintenance plans and procedures to ensure system reliability and uptime.
  • Develop risk-based life cycle management plans for assets nearing end of useful life.
  • Ensure all designs and installations comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures to protect personnel and equipment.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and maintenance records.
  • Generate technical reports and presentations for stakeholders and management.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities for system optimization and process improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
  • 8+ years of experience in power generation and distribution systems, with a strong background in a heavy industrial setting.
  • Experience with power generation and distribution systems, including high, medium, and low voltage systems.
  • Strong understanding of electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEC).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in CAD software for electrical design and simulation tools.
