About the position

The Senior Director of Performance Improvement at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital is responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership for the enterprise financial performance improvement program. This role involves overseeing the annual operating margin improvement program, known as "HERCULES," and managing operational benchmarking functions. The Senior Director will collaborate with various departments to enhance financial management competencies and promote a culture of continuous improvement across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership for NYP's enterprise financial performance improvement program.
  • Oversee the HERCULES program for operating margin improvement and operational benchmarking.
  • Collaborate with operations, budget, and leaders across the enterprise to achieve sustainable financial performance.
  • Utilize project management and process improvement methodologies to foster a culture of continuous financial improvement.
  • Manage a team of process improvement specialists and PMO analysts to implement best practices in financial management.
  • Develop and refine analytics, metrics, and tools to support effective financial management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • Ten years of experience in hospital finance, operations, or consulting services.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with teams.
  • Persuasive leadership skills to motivate management and staff.
  • Proven management skills to plan, execute, monitor, and report on projects.
  • Demonstrated understanding of hospital financial principles.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in Business, Public Health, or Public Administration.
  • PMP and/or LEAN certification.
  • Five years in hospital management and leadership roles.
