About The Position

This role provides strategic and operational leadership for enterprise procurement applications supporting DePuy Synthes’ global business. The Sr. Director will define and execute the technology roadmap for procurement platforms, ensuring scalable, compliant, and user‑centered solutions that enable sourcing, contracting, supplier management, and procure‑to‑pay processes. This position offers the opportunity to shape the future‑state enterprise application landscape during a period of transformation, directly influencing efficiency, cost optimization, and business agility across the organization and reports into the DePuy Synthes Technology organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • 12-14 years of experience in IT leadership with accountability for enterprise‑scale applications.
  • Demonstrated leadership of procurement or supply‑chain–enabled enterprise systems in a global organization.
  • Strong background in enterprise architecture, system integration, and application lifecycle management.
  • Experience managing complex vendor ecosystems and multimillion‑dollar budgets.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and change leadership skills.
  • English required; additional languages a plus.
  • Up to 20% domestic and international travel.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree (MBA or MS) in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience supporting procurement platforms within regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, medical devices, life sciences).
  • Familiarity with modern ERP and best‑of‑breed procurement solutions and cloud‑based architectures.
  • Demonstrated success leading large‑scale digital transformations or separations.
  • Strong data and analytics orientation to enable insight‑driven procurement decisions.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop large, geographically distributed teams.
  • IT or program management certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Set the enterprise strategy and roadmap for procurement‑related applications, ensuring alignment with business priorities and IT architecture standards.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and lifecycle management of global procurement platforms (e.g., sourcing, contracts, supplier management, P2P).
  • Partner with Procurement, Finance, Supply Chain, and other stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable, secure technology solutions.
  • Oversee vendor relationships, system integrators, and managed service providers to ensure delivery quality, cost effectiveness, and performance.
  • Ensure enterprise applications comply with internal controls, data privacy, cybersecurity, and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement through automation, data analytics, and process optimization across procurement workflows.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop high‑performing global teams, fostering a culture of accountability, inclusion, and innovation.
  • Manage budgets, investment planning, and resource allocation for procurement application portfolios.
  • Lead enterprise procurement application strategy through business separation, including dual‑run governance, TSA exit planning, and delivery of a future‑state standalone procurement application landscape.
  • Set the strategic direction for intelligent and data‑driven capabilities across procurement platforms, guiding investment, prioritization, and adoption of AI‑enabled solutions in partnership with product and delivery teams.
