About the position

The Senior Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a crucial role in providing care and support to individuals with disabilities. This position involves assisting with personal care routines, light housework, and transportation to appointments, while also offering behavioral and social support. The DSP is expected to work collaboratively with a supportive leadership team and may supervise residential homes in the absence of a Residential Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Perform light housework including cooking, meal preparation, and cleaning.
• Maintain personal care and hygiene routines such as feeding, medication administration, bathing, and toileting.
• Provide transportation to and from doctor's appointments and outside activities.
• Offer behavioral and social support, managing potential physical and verbal outbursts.
• Occasionally provide sleepover shifts and supervise a residential home without a Residential Supervisor.
• Assist the Residential Supervisor with assigned duties.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Valid Driver's License with at least 2 years of consecutive driving experience and fewer than 3 moving violations in the past 36 months.
• Ability to pass pre-employment background, physical, TB, and drug screenings.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. as needed.
• Previous direct support or caregiving experience, particularly with individuals with disabilities.
