About the position

The Senior DevOps Developer supports hosting solutions for our MarketProminence™ clients. In this role, you will collaborate with development teams and the infrastructure group to create and manage build automation processes that support application deployments and file load operations. You will work with modern technology stacks within the cloud environments of AWS and OCI. The ideal candidate will have experience with development, not just configuring services on AWS/OCI. Success in this role requires strong multitasking abilities, adaptability to a fast-paced environment, and a solid understanding of IT concepts and the full IT design and delivery lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with development leads and infrastructure teams to design, build, document, and test solutions for data interchange and business process automation.
  • Design, implement, and maintain automation solutions using Ansible and Python.
  • Develop Ansible playbooks for deployment and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Set up and maintain development tools and infrastructure on AWS and OCI.
  • Enhance file manipulation and data processing engines using Python, YAML, and various cloud-native services.
  • Manage deployment processes during both business hours and off-hours; improve existing automated build systems.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation to reflect the current state of applications and systems.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and support release management activities.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in Ansible development with strong expertise in playbook development and automation workflows.
  • Proven experience with build automation tools, particularly Jenkins.
  • Proficiency in Python and shell scripting, with experience in data and workflow automation, and file manipulation.
  • Experience administering software solutions in AWS or OCI environments, with exposure to DevOps toolchains.
  • General IT knowledge, including applications development, testing, deployment, CI/CD, Git, documentation, standards, security, networking, and hardware.

Nice-to-haves

  • Preferred experience with managing Kubernetes clusters and deploying containerized applications using Docker.
  • Familiarity with GitHub Actions for automation and CI/CD processes and with configuring and administering GitHub Enterprise Server.
  • Knowledge of Oracle, SQL, and database administration is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to research and troubleshoot issues independently.
  • Familiarity with change control and issue tracking tools, preferably using the Atlassian suite (JIRA, Confluence).
