About the position

The Senior Data Architect at Analytica will play a crucial role in supporting a federal government client by advancing the use of data and metadata, exploring new technologies, and developing data solutions across the data lifecycle. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, creativity, and collaboration with a diverse team to design and implement effective data architectures and solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop operational data store and master data management data model including conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
  • Construct and advance data loading capabilities for both online and offline data mastering.
  • Support analytic and operational use of data with guidance.
  • Align with Enterprise partners in data science, architecture, governance, infrastructure, and security to optimize production environments.
  • Collaborate with business owners to enhance data collection, movement, storage, and usage.
  • Advise consumers on effective use of data products for their use cases.
  • Convert concepts into workable prototypes for client reviews and acceptance.
  • Translate business needs into data architecture solutions and data orchestration pipelines.
  • Prototype, test, and integrate new data tools as defined by product owners and business teams.
  • Manage Data Modelers and/or Data Architects to ensure deliverables are met.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems management, or a related field.
  • 8-10 years of professional data solutions development and implementation experience.
  • Experience with AWS (Glue, Athena, API Gateway).
  • Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with data modeling tools such as Neo4J, Erwin, and Embarcadero.
  • Dashboard development and reporting experience with PowerBI.
  • Familiarity with data movement tools like Informatica.
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence.
  • Knowledge of unit testing and RESTful API development.
  • Desire and willingness to learn new data tools.
  • Agile mindset and background in iterative development.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience with CMS data.
  • Experience with SparxEA.
  • Familiarity with AWS CDK and other AWS services.
  • Experience with Git and CICD pipelines.
  • Relational database design experience.
  • Knowledge of microservices and containers (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS).
