About The Position

TEA is looking for a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer that will provide expert-level cybersecurity support services to ensure compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) standards and requirements. This role involves managing vulnerability assessments, interpreting DoD policies, and leading cybersecurity initiatives to safeguard critical systems and data.

Requirements

  • DoD 8750.01-M Compliance Required
  • IAM Level III Required (CISSP, CISM, or equivalent management focused certification)
  • Cybersecurity principles, risk management frameworks and regulatory standards
  • Tools such as vulnerability scanners, SIEM platforms, firewalls, and encryption technologies
  • Classified systems or Special Access Programs (SAPs)
  • Documentation processes for system authorization such as ATOs (Authorization To Operate)
  • Research, analysis, installation, and test software updates and security patches
  • U.S. Citizenship is Required
  • Candidates must have an active clearance OR the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required. An active security clearance is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cybersecurity support efforts for the Afloat community in alignment with DoD regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with certification requirements for IAM Level III or equivalent.
  • Monitor, research, and respond to Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs) and Information Assurance Vulnerability Bulletins (IAVBs).
  • Assess and mitigate vulnerabilities and risks associated with Windows and Linux operating systems and related components.
  • Manage vulnerability incident reporting and ensure timely resolution.
  • Support the DoD Assessment and Authorization (A&A) process for systems and applications.
  • Review and provide feedback on DoD cybersecurity documents, orders, and instructions.
  • Interpret and apply DoD policies and regulations (e.g., 8500, 5200) to operational environments.
  • Utilize cybersecurity tools such as ESS, VRAM, eMASS, DADMS, and ACAS for monitoring and compliance.
