About the position

The Senior Customer Service Representative at Fifth Third Bank plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service, managing daily transactions, and resolving customer inquiries. This position requires a proactive approach to identifying customer needs and referring them to appropriate business partners while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to bank policies. The role also involves training new staff and ensuring the efficient operation of the financial center.

Responsibilities

  • Develop rapport with customers and greet them by name.
  • Perform financial center opening and closing duties.
  • Provide cash withdrawal, check signing, transaction approvals, and manage night deposits.
  • Oversee the teller line, balance ATMs and vaults, and process credit card applications.
  • Initiate conversations with customers to uncover their needs and refer them to appropriate business partners.
  • Maintain a balancing record, find and correct errors, and seek help as needed.
  • Handle customer issues professionally and direct complex issues to management.
  • Train and develop new and current Customer Service Representatives.
  • Monitor operations behind the Customer Service Representative line and delegate work as needed.
  • Act as the contact person for financial center personnel regarding Customer Service Representative activity.

Requirements

  • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership skills and excellent time management.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to interact confidently with the public.
  • Initiative and sound judgment in decision-making.
  • Minimum 1 year banking experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Strong working knowledge of banking retail policies and procedures.
  • Advanced math abilities.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for most of the shift.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in training and developing staff members.
