Responsibilities

  • Provide legal and strategic advice and counsel to internal clients and legal colleagues on a range of global employment issues, including prevention of harassment and discrimination, compensation and benefits, performance management, reorganizations, accommodations and leaves of absence, wage and hour law, mobility, contingent workforce, and ethics issues.
  • Independently support key Talent and Business partners on complex and challenging employment issues; delivering clear, practical advice that enables our business partners to achieve their objectives while mitigating legal risk and keeping the interests of all stakeholders at the forefront.
  • Drive and support on cross-functional projects to improve our global employment policies and practices to ensure compliance with business objectives and federal, state and local laws.
  • Manage high-visibility employment issues, disputes, and internal investigations.
  • Be a trusted and collaboration-oriented partner across Employee Experience global functions.
  • Support Airbnb’s commitment to building and maintaining an inclusive workplace, free of discrimination and harassment.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of relevant experience with a significant amount focused on employment law.
  • Strong, proven ability to work cross functionally with business partners and executives.
  • Experience leading and/or advising on investigations.
  • General experience working in an international and multicultural working environment with geographically dispersed team members.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and pressurized environment and to act decisively.
  • Provide quick, concise, and practical legal advice consistent with Airbnb’s business objectives.
  • Advise and problem-solve proactively where necessary.
  • A passion for Airbnb’s mission, with a strong knowledge and interest in travel.
  • A team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • In-house experience, preferably in the technology sector, preferred.
  • Computer literacy with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Qualified lawyer with Bar admission in the United States.

Benefits

  • Base pay range of $208,000—$253,500 USD, dependent on factors such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands.
  • This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
