About The Position

Contract professional supporting the Defense & Systems business contract life cycle including cradle to grave contract management and critical product line partnership duties in government and commercial contracting environments. The Defense & Systems Contracts Team is the primary focal to government, airframer and commercial procurement customers and accountable for contracting actions across all phases of a Program: proposal strategy, solution development, production, sustainment and closeout. The Contracts Team provides expert knowledge in customer relationships and regulations, contract terms, price and profit negotiation, risk analysis and mitigation strategies, and scope and change management. As a trusted partner to the business, Contracts collaborates across multiple functions with a focus on meeting business objectives while balancing customer expectations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible experience in government, commercial, or international contract formation and execution
  • Solid domain expertise in commercial terms and conditions and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), with emphasis on Part 12 (Commercial Items) and Part 15 (Contracting by Negotiation), plus applicable DoD supplements (DFARS)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal, influencing, and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems and lead cross-functional teams
  • Willingness to travel periodically
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • Established project management skills
  • Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, or have been granted asylee or refugee status)

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct contracts support for multiple government, airframe, and commercial contracts across varying types (fixed price, cost reimbursement, prime, subcontract, FAR Part 12/15, development, production).
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to assess and disposition commercial terms and conditions, and interpret FAR/DFARS requirements for solicitations and contracts.
  • Lead contract activities from solicitation review and proposal strategy through audit support, negotiation, operations/change management, claims/disputes administration, and closeout.
  • Lead functional teams and special projects; regularly advise functional and business leadership with sound recommendations and risk-informed options.
  • Apply high levels of judgment to resolve complex issues, drive solutions, and recommend best practices to improve products, processes, or execution.
  • Support a culture of compliance, quality, timeliness, and continuous improvement.
  • Stay informed on industry trends that may impact contracting strategy or execution.
