About The Position

General Motors is seeking experienced and motivated candidates for the role of Senior Component HIL Simulation and Integration Engineer to support their HIL Agile Release Train (HIL ART). This role is responsible for creating hardware in the loop environments to enable development, verification, and validation of embedded controllers and calibrations for various vehicle systems including battery, hybrid, electrification, engine, transmission, chassis, and intelligent brake controls. As vehicle technology evolves, the testing platforms must also adapt. Component-based HIL environments are increasingly incorporating multiple controllers across different domains, leading to the development of Multi-Domain HIL (MDB) benches that support core vehicle features with all necessary hardware controllers in the loop. Current MDB bench planning is focused on electric propulsion, including HIL support for battery controllers and power inverter module controllers.

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical, Software or Computer preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering experience, with at least 3 years focused on simulation and testing of electronic control modules.
  • Experience with MATLAB and Simulink in the context of plant model development and integration and basic usage of additional tools for real-time simulation.
  • Familiarity with automotive communication technologies such as CAN, LIN, and SPI.
  • Familiarity in computer programming languages including Python, C/C++.
  • Familiarity with software version controlling tools including GIT, Bitbucket.
  • Familiarity with SAFe for implementing agile practices.
