About the position

Centris Federal Credit Union is on the search for a dynamic Senior Compliance Specialist to join our team and assist us in our mission of being a trusted life-long financial partner. As a compliance guru with a passion for making a difference, you will protect Centris by managing legal and compliance risks across Retail, Mortgage, Commercial, and Indirect lines of business. You will keep up to date with the latest in state and federal laws and regulations, work with internal and external members, vendors, and more to create and develop lasting partnerships, and provide legal and compliance input on exciting new projects and product changes.

Responsibilities

  • Research, prepare, implement, maintain, and track compliance for new and existing products, services, and systems.
  • Own the process for litigation, legal, and member dispute questions, and be the liaison to outside legal counsel.
  • Manage contract reviews for key outside vendors from inception to renewals.
  • Oversee corporate insurance renewals and claims.
  • Assist with compliance testing, reviews of internal controls, and disseminate findings to stakeholders.
  • Stay ahead of industry publications, communicate new legal and regulatory changes, and make recommendations for implementation.
  • Respond to business unit questions regarding legal topics and issues.

Requirements

  • Must have a bachelor's degree in law, business administration, finance, economics, or related field and/or related work experience.
  • Must have at least 5 years of experience in legal or regulatory compliance within a financial institution.
  • Strong consumer compliance knowledge enforced on the credit union by state and federal laws as applicable.
  • Must have the ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with members, staff, vendors, financial institutions, and other business contacts.
  • Must be able to effectively access and interpret computer screens, documents, and reports.
  • Must be able to operate general office equipment.
  • Must be able to effectively present information and concepts to groups of various sizes.
  • Must be detail-oriented with the ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
