About the position

The Senior Classification/Compensation Consultant plays a crucial role in the Human Resources department by managing and developing the classification and compensation programs for the university. This position involves consulting on position management, classification, and compensation analysis, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and providing support to various stakeholders within the university. The consultant will also assist in resolving complex HR issues and contribute to the effective design and delivery of competitive compensation programs.

Responsibilities

  • Independently participate in maintaining and developing relationships throughout the university.
  • Assist with the administration of the classification and compensation program, university policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Support the daily resolution of complex department and human resources issues.
  • Provide timely HR services to customers using HRIS system tools for tracking requests.
  • Respond to questions and resolve problems related to compensation administration, policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Support the Director of Position Management in implementing and administering compensation projects and initiatives.
  • Ensure maintenance, legal compliance, and utilization reporting for compensation programs.
  • Assist with the management of day-to-day team operations and compliance with applicable standards.
  • Coordinate audits and recommend process improvements and changes.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for administration and management of compensation.
  • Support the implementation and administration of compensation plans and strategies.
  • Assist stakeholders with compensation-related issues, providing excellent customer service.
  • Collaborate on projects including design analysis, budgeting, and implementation of new programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in compensation analysis or related field.
  • Experience with compensation software and HRIS systems such as Banner and PeopleAdmin.

Nice-to-haves

  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
  • Certified Compensation Professional Designation preferred.

Benefits

  • Salary range of $70,000 - $80,000.
  • Full-time employment with a time-limited designation.
  • Work schedule from Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
