About the position

EMH&T is recruiting for a Senior Civil Engineer, PE to join our Development II Division. Our engineers are involved in commercial site development design projects and work collaboratively with the project team to develop creative solutions to address client needs and solve design and construction challenges that may arise. This role involves initiating work or consultation with internal departments in areas such as transportation, environmental, and stormwater. The Senior Civil Engineer may also be involved in identifying and acquiring essential information needed to complete assignments, such as municipal standards and local utility or Owner requirements. Additionally, the engineer will assist the senior project manager by planning and organizing workflow, providing technical oversight of various project components, overseeing the preparation of design calculations, details, and specifications, as well as assisting with plan reviews and modifications.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project teams on commercial site development design projects.
  • Develop creative solutions to address client needs and solve design and construction challenges.
  • Initiate work or consultation with internal departments in transportation, environmental, and stormwater areas.
  • Identify and acquire essential information needed to complete assignments, such as municipal standards and local utility requirements.
  • Assist the senior project manager in planning and organizing workflow.
  • Provide technical oversight of various project components.
  • Oversee the preparation of design calculations, details, and specifications.
  • Assist with plan reviews and modifications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Licensed PE in Ohio.
  • Experience in land/infrastructure development.
  • Diverse experience and mature judgment in applying engineering principles and techniques.
