About The Position

McKesson is seeking to add a Senior Category Manager. The Private Label Product Development Manager collaborates with Category Management to develop product strategy for McKesson’s Foster & Thrive (F&T) portfolio and supports omni‑channel commercialization and expansion into new channels, exercising significant independent judgment to anticipate risks, define priorities, and redirect cross‑functional efforts as needed to achieve business objectives. The role partners cross‑functionally on portfolio planning, supplier performance, and product launches, helping accelerate formulary adoption and conversions while ensuring excellence in availability, content, and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Own and build formulary access, commercialization, and channel expansion strategy for Private Label brands by defining access objectives, prioritizing opportunities, establishing enterprise standards and governance, aligning cross-functional execution, and driving implementation to support overall business goals.
  • Partner with Business Development and cross-functional teams to lead end-to-end commercialization of Private Label products, including pricing, contracts, product data, marketing, operations, systems readiness, customer onboarding, conversions, NPL launches, and product switches.
  • Drive Private Label growth across priority channels, including e-commerce, marketplace, strategic retail partnerships, ISMC, Amazon, Community, and Health Systems, by identifying leakage drivers, removing barriers, tracking conversion versus awards, and improving adoption.
  • Own pricing integrity across systems by managing Average Wholesale Price (AWP) updates, downstream alignment, and commercialization readiness indicators such as content completeness, artwork accuracy, UPC/NDC integrity, and Connect discoverability to ensure accurate, compliant, and commercially effective execution.
  • Ensure full execution and governance of Private Label contract requirements and supplier administration, including compendiums, contract leads, supplier exhibits, contract updates, and communication of changes across Sales, Category Management, Pricing, and Operations to protect access, compliance, and revenue continuity.
  • Serve as a central liaison with pharmaceutical compendiums, including FDB, Medispan, and Redbook, to coordinate product status updates, fulfillment requests, lifecycle changes, and data accuracy in support of commercial and compliance needs.
  • Lead cross-functional execution of product data and market-facing content readiness by coordinating Foster & Thrive catalog updates, website imaging in partnership with HRG, and Private Label product guides to ensure accurate, timely, and consistent information.
  • Provide leadership for Government Pricing execution and broader compliance activities by partnering with Finance, Compliance, Quality, Regulatory, and external partners to conduct quarterly pricing reviews, manage baseline reporting, issue required notifications, support contract updates, product registrations, supplier and product compliance, and participation in applicable payer and benefit programs.
  • Collaborate with Category Management, Compliance, Accounts Payable, Customer Service, and Operations to resolve supplier trade AP and chargeback disputes, troubleshoot vendor- and product-related issues, and lead Consumer Satisfaction Guarantee case resolution to protect brand integrity, customer experience, and minimize financial and operational risk.
  • Establish and maintain performance reporting and KPIs to assess formulary access effectiveness, commercialization readiness, and channel execution; proactively identify risks, drive corrective actions with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and IT, and make recommendations that directly impact enterprise revenue, regulatory compliance, and customer experience across multiple channels.
