About The Position

Hayward Holdings Inc. is seeking a Senior BI Developer to transform data into actionable insights, lead BI projects, develop data models, and mentor teams while ensuring alignment with business objectives. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define, standardize, document, and deliver BI solutions. The developer will partner with Data Engineering to optimize ETL/ELT pipelines and data models, act as a liaison between business stakeholders and data engineering/Power BI teams, and develop/optimize scalable data models ensuring data quality and performance. The position also includes analyzing complex datasets, designing interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI, providing guidance to junior developers, and enhancing BI processes and methodologies. Governance through DevOps practices, enforcing BI development standards, optimizing BI platform performance, and guiding business Power BI teams towards standardized solutions are also key aspects of this role.

Requirements

  • Advanced Technical Expertise in Power BI, DAX, SQL, dbt Cloud, other BI tools and Python.
  • Experience with data warehousing, cloud platforms (AWS, Snowflake, Azure).
  • Experience with Statistical analysis.
  • Experience in Building Semantic layers, reusable data models, scalable reporting frameworks and BI architectures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to interpret data, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Ability to operate effectively in an ambiguous or evolving data environment, driving incremental improvement and structure.
  • Experience working across multiple business domains and stakeholder groups.
  • Highly organized with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with stakeholders; ability to translate business needs and/or requirements into technical solutions.
  • 5+ years in BI development or analytics roles.
  • 8-10 years of senior-level experience in data modeling, data architecture, performance tuning, and strategic decision-making.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields.

Nice To Haves

  • Finance, Manufacturing, Distribution or Supply Chain experience a plus.
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric a plus.
  • Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, analysts, and IT, to gather requirements, define, standardize, document, and deliver BI solutions aligned with company goals.
  • Partner with Data Engineering to optimize robust ETL/ELT pipelines and data models (e.g., Snowflake, dbt).
  • Act as a key liaison between business stakeholders, data engineering and business Power BI teams to ensure alignment.
  • Develop and optimize scalable data models, and ensure data quality and performance.
  • Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights that support strategic decision-making.
  • Design, implement, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI.
  • Provide guidance to junior developers, foster best practices, and lead BI initiatives.
  • Continuously enhance BI processes, tools, and methodologies to improve data quality, consistency, reporting accuracy, and efficiency across BI workflows.
  • Use DevOps practices to apply DevOps principles (version control; automated deployment; environment strategy; continuous integration strategy and deliver code reviews; Etc.).
  • Enforce BI Development standards, naming conventions.
  • Drive improvements to optimize BI platform performance, query efficiency, model design, and cost management.
  • Partner with Business Power BI Teams to move towards standardized, maintainable, and scalable solutions.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
