About the position

The Sr. Business Development Manager at Muon Space is responsible for driving business growth within the Department of Defense (DoD) sector. This role involves strategic planning, customer engagement, and leading capture activities to secure new contracts. The position requires collaboration with various departments and a strong focus on developing and executing strategies to meet company growth targets.

Responsibilities

  • Drive near term and long term growth for Muon Space in DoD.
  • Lead customer engagement, pipeline development and capture efforts.
  • Provide thought leadership in the development and synthesis of a cohesive and executable strategy for target organizations.
  • Identify new opportunities and lead capture throughout pipeline stages to support company growth targets.
  • Create, maintain and implement customer engagement plans.
  • Lead proposals and RFI responses, developing win themes and engaging with engineering to create technical solutions.
  • Develop Price to Win, write content and perform overall review of content before submission.
  • Leverage Muon Space's tools and processes to track and manage opportunities.
  • Collaborate with other BD personnel and engineering on opportunities.
  • Provide input from Customers into the product technology roadmap.
  • Work with Legal and Finance on opportunities.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of professional experience in aerospace/defense with 5+ years in Business Development.
  • Ability to build a plan and execute with clear ownership and minimal oversight.
  • Experience working with business development on USG captures and supporting and/or leading proposals.
  • Demonstrated success capturing space business within the DoD/IC.
  • Continuous learner who leads through uncertainty and learns from mistakes.
  • Demonstrated emotional intelligence to interact and empathize with staff, colleagues, and customers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced development environment.
  • Active DoD TS clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in a technical field.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering to DoD/IC.
  • Experience with remote sensing satellite development and/or mission operations.
  • Experience working with a diverse set of U.S. Government DoD, IC and Civil customers.
  • Understanding of systems engineering processes and system architectures.
