SEI has a challenging opportunity for a skilled and detail-oriented Business Analyst to join our Data Office. In this role focused on data analytics, you will bridge the gap between business needs and data-driven insights, leveraging analytical tools to provide strategic guidance and operational improvements. Your expertise in data extraction, analysis, and visualization will enable stakeholders to make informed decisions and drive strategic outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business challenges, gather requirements, and define analytical objectives.
  • Extract and transform data from various sources to build actionable insights and predictive models.
  • Design, develop, and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate key metrics and trends.
  • Conduct in-depth analyses to identify patterns, anomalies, and opportunities for process optimization.
  • Work closely with IT and data engineering teams to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity.
  • Translate complex data findings into clear, concise insights and recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Monitor and optimize reporting systems for usability, scalability, and performance.
  • Stay up to date with emerging data analytics tools, methodologies, and industry best practices to improve capabilities.
  • Provide training and support to stakeholders on data tools, dashboards, and reporting frameworks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a business analyst or data analytics role.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or similar).
  • Knowledge of the finance industry particularly in areas such as asset management, wealth management, and financial technology.
  • Familiarity with financial metrics like AUM (Assets Under Management), portfolio performance, revenue, flows and investment benchmarks.
  • Ability to work comfortably with a wide range of people and skill sets, including architects, project managers, analysts, designers and developers.
  • Ability to translate business goals and objectives into analytics, dashboards and defining KPIs.
  • Excellent presentation skills to deliver impactful data-driven recommendations to non-technical audiences in a clear and actionable manner.
  • Familiarity with data visualization principles (e.g. chart types, color theory, layout design, filters) to effectively communicate insights.
  • Familiarity with data storytelling techniques to create compelling narratives with data.
  • Familiarity with advanced analytics (e.g., trend analysis, forecasting, KPIs) and ability to apply them effectively in dashboards.
  • Awareness of AI/ML integration in BI tools for predictive insights and automation.
  • Knowledge of BI tools like Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent (dashboard design, visualization, DAX, and data modelling). Power BI hands-on is a plus.
  • Understanding of DW, ETL/ELT processes and data preparation techniques.
  • Knowledge of data governance and best practices for ensuring data quality and security.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
