About the position

The Senior Azure Engineer at Fisher Investments will play a crucial role in supporting the Portfolio Management Group's modernization programs by mentoring a team of cloud engineers and managing Azure-based cloud infrastructure. This position focuses on designing, implementing, and optimizing cloud solutions to enhance operational efficiency and support the firm's global growth.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of Azure resources with the Cloud Platform team.
  • Design and manage scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure and automation tooling for routine operational tasks.
  • Manage cloud costs and improve resource usage for cost efficiency.
  • Ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of the Azure environment through proactive monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Investigate and monitor current-state cloud usage, solutions, risks, and recommend optimizations.
  • Mitigate broken systems and prevent future disruptions.
  • Consult and contribute to process improvements of IT policies, procedures, tools, and security controls.
  • Conduct research and proof of concept activities for new technologies and tools.
  • Work with solution architects to ensure developed solutions align with standards and security controls.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation in the Azure cloud environment.
  • Stay updated with the latest Azure features and share knowledge with the team.
  • Collaborate with scrum teams on Observability and Monitoring needs.
  • Assist Product Owner(s) in identifying infrastructure needs for new features.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in IT Infrastructure with an emphasis on implementation and maintenance.
  • 5+ years of experience building, deploying, and managing public cloud IaaS and PaaS services.
  • Experience with configuration management and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) toolsets such as Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, and Chef.
  • Scripting and automation experience for builds, workflows, and tasks.
  • Experience building automated cloud infrastructure across Prod and Non-Prod environments.
  • Experience in DevSecOps using GitHub, jFrog, and Octopus setup.
  • Experience with Monitoring and Observability software and managing Highly Available API services.
  • Experience tracing and troubleshooting issues in Hybrid environments.
  • Experience with Linux and Microsoft Windows server administration.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
