About the position

The Retail Data Management and Governance team at Capital One offers a unique opportunity to partner with the Bank data community to deliver data-related processes that mitigate risk, ensure policy compliance, and drive results. The Product Manager for the Retail Bank team plays a critical role in achieving our goals. This is a highly collaborative role, where the individual will work closely with a team of product managers as well as partnering with designers, engineers, data scientists, operations, and business partners. In this role, you will lead the work to design and build on our Controls Automation platform. You will contribute immediately, strengthening well-managed best practices and implementing modernization efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Lead sourcing and synthesis of customer discovery efforts to understand customer needs to drive the long term vision for your product.
  • Turn customer insights into actionable strategies that will define the priorities for your team and rally your stakeholders to your vision.
  • Breakdown business epics into features and further into user stories, driving your team towards lowest effort or Minimal Viable Product (MVP).
  • Own and prioritize the long-term (12-18 months) product roadmap to deliver on business outcomes.
  • Define KPIs for your product and will be responsible for measuring and tracking to those measures.
  • Work closely with tech leadership and architecture to understand the tradeoffs of technical decisions and how they impact the customer experience.
  • Deliver well-managed product platforms for customers by seeking to understand technology trends and architecture strategy.
  • Participate in horizontal forums to harness a network of trusted relationships among tech teams, designers, key internal stakeholders and partner teams.
  • Articulate a succinct product roadmap to deliver business value and share with stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience.
  • At least 1 year of agile digital product management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience leading agile teams to launch digital products.
  • 2+ years translating business strategy and data analysis into digital products.
