About the position
The Senior Actuarial Analyst at Independence American Insurance Company (IAIC) is responsible for analyzing and evaluating future events to manage financial risks associated with pet insurance products. This role involves contributing to product pricing, rate filings, and providing innovative solutions through detailed analysis. The position requires strong mathematical and statistical skills to support decision-making processes within the company.
Responsibilities
- Completes and interprets actuarial analysis, valuations, cost estimates, and modeling using mathematics, statistical programming, and financial theory.
- Assists with the completion of rate filing documents for all states.
- Researches rate filings as needed.
- Maintains and updates existing models, tools, and other files used for analysis.
- Prepares reserving, forecasting, rate filings, pricing analysis, and experience reports for review.
- Completes ad hoc reporting as necessary.
- Completes appropriate database work as necessary.
- Develops complex actuarial models.
- Interprets rate objects and prepares responses and rating support.
- Interprets rate regulations and applies them appropriately to rating development and support.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Math, Finance, Actuarial Science, Economics, Accounting, Computer Information Systems, or other quantitative field, or equivalent work experience.
- 4 years' relevant experience.
- Must have passed Four or more Actuarial Exams.
