Responsible for functional areas of the accounting department while ensuring accuracy, consistency and the integrity of the accounting department. This role involves devising and installing general accounting systems and procedures, complying reports on cash receipts, expenditures and other financial reports, and maintaining complete records of cash books, daily journals and ledgers to document financial transactions. The Senior Accountant will examine and verify data, distribute and post same to proper accounts, prepare bank deposits, disbursement vouchers, customer’s statements, and payroll checks. This position also assists with major audits, prepares and understands financial reports and graphs on a daily, monthly, and yearly basis, and performs all A/P and A/R functions. Additionally, the Senior Accountant assists the Controller in the preparation of company financials and tax reporting, maintains and generates required financial and operational reports and spreadsheets, and assists other departments as needed. The role requires minimal supervision, the ability to prepare sales tax returns, and responsibility for accurately maintaining and updating all accounting data. Some basic collection duties and verification and preparation of bank deposits for all locations are also part of the responsibilities. Weekend work may be required, and the position may be scheduled during any of the three shifts in a 24-hour period. Special projects and other duties as assigned will also be part of the role.
