About The Position

The Senior Accountant supports both corporate accounting and clinic-level financial operations for a multi-entity dental services organization managing 40+ locations. This role blends strong GAAP-based corporate accounting expertise with hands-on operational support within dental clinic environments. This position plays a critical role in ensuring revenue accuracy, cash integrity, and strong financial controls across the organization.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
4–7+ years of accounting experience
Experience in multi-entity environments
Strong NetSuite experience required
Hands-on experience with Open Dental (or similar dental PMS)
Advanced Excel skills
Ability to work cross-functionally with operations teams
Dental, healthcare, or DSO environment
Experience reconciling PMS to GL
Audit support experience

Responsibilities

Prepare monthly journal entries.
Perform monthly close procedures, including variance analysis income statement and balance sheet.
Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations and schedules.
Assist with audit support.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
Assist with NetSuite financial reporting and process improvements.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies between PMS collections, bank deposits, insurance payments, and adjustments/write-offs.
Identify timing differences vs. true reconciling items.
Drill into Open Dental transaction detail to identify misapplied payments, detect posting errors, and analyze patient credits and adjustments.
Partner directly with clinic managers and front desk teams to clear reconciling items, correct posting errors, and improve collection accuracy.
Strengthen deposit controls and segregation of duties.
Ensure bank reconciliations are completed timely and accurately.
Maintain documentation for audit support.
Identify process improvements across accounting and operations workflows.
