About The Position

The Senior Accountant is a key member of Ivim Health’s Finance team, responsible for owning core general ledger functions with a heavy emphasis on inventory accounting, tax compliance and coordination, balance sheet integrity, and month-end close execution across multiple entities. This role partners closely with the Controller and Assistant Controller to ensure accurate expense recognition, clean and well-supported balance sheet accounts (including inventory, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and accruals), and timely, reliable financial reporting. The Senior Accountant will play an important role in strengthening accounting processes, supporting close execution, and maintaining strong controls as the organization continues to scale. This position requires a highly experienced accountant who brings strong technical accounting knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, fully remote environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience within a corporate accounting environment.
  • Strong experience owning general ledger accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepaid expenses, and fixed assets.
  • Significant hands-on experience with revenue accounting and reconciliation across multiple systems or entities.
  • Proven experience with inventory.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including working with large datasets, pivot tables, and advanced formulas.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to derive insights from financial data.
  • Comfortable learning and optimizing accounting systems, financial tools, and HRIS platforms.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Exhibit a general curiosity to figure out how things work.
  • Self-directed and effective working independently in a fully remote environment.
  • Proactive communicator who manages competing priorities and flags risks early.
  • High integrity, professionalism, and discretion when handling sensitive information.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in public accounting is preferred.
  • CPA designation preferred.
  • Experience writing and working with SQL or other data-query tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post complex journal entries related to inventory, prepaid expenses, expense accruals, capitalized software and fixed assets.
  • Prepare reconciliations, roll-forwards and other month-end financial reporting as required.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness and existence of inventory by partnering with the logistic team to review inventory stock levels, inventory movement, three-way match, and other inventory related duties.
  • Maintain accurate inventory valuation using FIFO. Analyze turnover and provide insights on slow-moving or excess stock.
  • Proactively monitor and analyze balance sheet accounts and income statement fluctuations and ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Act as the primary liaison with our tax consultant to coordinate timely tax payments and filings and track and resolve tax notices.
  • Log and resolve all tax notices received in a timely manner, keeping notices incredibly organized and resolving within a short timeframe. Resolve notices by making phone calls or drafting letters with tax agencies and tax consultants.
  • Own payroll tax compliance including and not limited to reconciling Forms 941, 940, W2, W3.
  • Establish and maintain online tax accounts for federal and state agencies.
  • Assist with the processing of quarterly tax payments online and ensure in house tax payments are made on time.
  • Maintain organized tax records and documentation to support audits and advisor requests.
  • Compile monthly financial statements and packages for leadership review.
  • Identify and resolve irregular balances, including the preparation of adjusting, reversing, or correcting entries.
  • Support the development, documentation, and refinement of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for auditors and tax partners, providing organized and repeatable support.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, strengthen controls, and improve scalability as the organization grows.
  • Assist in leading several sections of the external audit.
