About the position

The Senior Accountant will oversee the financial operations of a manufacturing facility, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. This role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and cost accounting, along with the ability to manage a team and provide insights for decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
  • Conduct month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to management for decision-making.
  • Coordinate and assist with external audits.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • CPA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role preferred.
  • Experience in the manufacturing sector is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.
