About the position
Under the general direction of the Community Resources Manager, the Self-Help Sponsor acts as a sponsor to inmates who voluntarily participate, on their own time, in socially acceptable group activities within the institutional system; to supervise, assist, and guide inmates while sponsoring such inmate group activities; and to promote acceptable attitudes and behavior of inmates supervised; and to do other related work. Facilitates the rehabilitation of incarcerated residents with inspiration by supervising group activities and promoting socially acceptable attitudes and behavior.
Responsibilities
- Act as a sponsor to inmates participating in group activities.
- Supervise, assist, and guide inmates during group activities.
- Promote acceptable attitudes and behavior among supervised inmates.
- Facilitate the rehabilitation of incarcerated residents.
Requirements
- Possession of Minimum Qualifications as verified prior to interview and/or appointment.
- Ability to work with and inspire cooperation among inmates.
- Knowledge of organization and functions of the institution.
