About the position

The Security Technician II plays a crucial role in the Operations Department, focusing on the installation of low-voltage systems across various sectors including Healthcare, Education, and Security. This position requires journeyman knowledge and certifications in electronic access control, video surveillance systems, and intrusion detection systems, ensuring a thorough competency in low-voltage field installation techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Assist lead technicians and/or Project Manager with tasks essential to project completion.
  • Complete daily tasks as assigned by the technician leading the project or the Project Manager.
  • Demonstrate ability to accomplish assigned tasks on schedule.
  • Exhibit thorough installation methodology in wire pull, device installation, and wire pathing.
  • Understand systems for which factory certification is achieved.
  • Follow policies, procedures, and guidelines accurately.
  • Provide accurate timecard entry to the Coordination Manager according to policies.
  • Engage in limited overnight travel as necessary.
  • Understand Beacon projects and work toward advancement.
  • Arrive for work on time, dressed professionally.
  • Perform other duties as assigned that align with system offerings.
  • Maintain professional customer relations and satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of low-voltage installation techniques.
  • Factory certification on offered systems is desired for advancement.
  • Understanding of OSHA guidelines and NEC/TIA/EIA standards.
  • Experience in low-voltage technology installation.
  • Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings.
  • Effective communication skills with various end-user customers.
  • Strong team player.

Nice-to-haves

  • Lenel, Identiv, Softwarehouse, and Milestone Certifications are desirable.
  • Two years of experience in low-voltage installation is preferred.
  • Experience with Lenel is preferred.
