About the position

The Security Technician - Low Voltage plays a crucial role in the Operations Department, focusing on the installation of low voltage systems across various sectors including Healthcare, Education, and Security. This position requires a solid understanding of low voltage installation techniques and adherence to industry standards. The technician will work under the guidance of a Project Manager or designated project lead to ensure timely project completion and maintain high customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Assist lead technicians and/or Project Manager with tasks essential to project completion.
  • Complete daily tasks as assigned by the technician leading the project or the Project Manager.
  • Demonstrate ability to accomplish assigned tasks on schedule.
  • Show basic installation methodology in wire pull, device installation, and wire pathing.
  • Understand systems for factory certification achievement.
  • Follow policies, procedures, and guidelines accurately.
  • Provide accurate timecard entry to Coordination Manager according to policies.
  • Engage in limited overnight travel as necessary.
  • Understand Beacon projects and work toward advancement.
  • Arrive for work on time, dressed professionally.
  • Perform other duties aligned with system offerings.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of low-voltage installation techniques.
  • Factory certification on offered systems is desired for advancement.
  • Understanding of OSHA guidelines and NEC/TIA/EIA standards.
  • Experience in low-voltage technology installation.
  • Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings.
  • Effective communication skills with various end-user customers.
  • Strong teamwork skills.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years of experience in low-voltage installation is desirable.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Lenel is preferred.
