About the position

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Security Specialist to join our team, focusing on Product Security. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion and background in cybersecurity, with a specific emphasis on securing software products and infrastructure throughout their development and deployment lifecycle. This role involves working closely with development and operations teams to ensure that security is integrated and maintained in every stage of the product and infrastructure development process. This position is required to report to the SHI Austin, TX office location as determined by SHI management.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product Development Teams to integrate security best practices in the CI/CD pipeline as part of the overall Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Collaborate with Infrastructure and Operations Teams to integrate security best practices into infrastructure and operations practices.
  • Conduct threat modeling and security assessments to identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities in both products and infrastructure.
  • Work alongside Cybersecurity Teams to ensure products meet the necessary security requirements for SHI products.
  • Build and implement security requirements and guidelines for product development and infrastructure management.
  • Ensure, review and help champion findings from security testing, including penetration testing and vulnerability assessments, on software products, cloud and infrastructure components.
  • Provide guidance and training to development and operations teams on secure coding practices, security tools, and infrastructure security.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, vulnerabilities, and technologies to ensure the highest level of product and infrastructure security.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to respond to and remediate security incidents related to products and infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain security documentation required to ensure the proper processes, procedures, and guidelines are in place for SHI products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on product and infrastructure security
  • Strong understanding of secure coding practices, threat modeling, and security testing methodologies
  • Experience with security tools such as static and dynamic analysis tools, penetration testing tools, and vulnerability scanners
  • Knowledge of common security vulnerabilities and their mitigation strategies (e.g., OWASP Top Ten)
