As a Security Officer Welcome Center in New Orleans, LA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. Join Allied Universal as a Front Desk professional in an education location, serving as a welcoming first point of contact for students, staff, and visitors. In this stationary role, you will support access management, monitor activity at the front desk, and help address security-related concerns through strong communication and customer service. Requirements

  • Possess at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service at the front desk by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, visitor reception duties, and/or emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Monitor access to the location by greeting students, staff, families, and visitors, checking identification and visitor logs, and helping to control entry in accordance with site protocols.
  • Respond to incidents, questions, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with school personnel, first responders, and/or Allied Universal leadership as needed.
  • Answer phones, provide directions, document daily activity, and report unusual activity, maintenance concerns, and/or policy issues through appropriate channels.
  • Support a professional front desk presence in an education setting by helping to deter unauthorized access, maintaining awareness of lobby activity, and following post orders and location procedures.
