About The Position

Cambia’s Information Security team supports the achievement of our Cause by executing a demonstrably mature information security program that adapts to the changing threat landscape with urgency and builds a differentiating degree of trust with employers, consumers and regulators. The Security Operations Intern will assist with the analysis of security events as well as assist with administration of critical security technologies. As an integral member of the team, you will perform a selection of the following duties: Report on security metrics around vulnerabilities, viruses, email spam, malware, patch levels, etc. Learn and uphold security standards for securely configuring of computer devices Monitors appropriate security safeguards within corporate information systems and networks across all computing platforms Communicate with various departments and business units regarding sensitive and confidential issues Respond to inquiries regarding defined information security policies, standards, and procedures Work with IT team members and other IT support teams in the collective effort of protecting Cambia’s information assets May assist with on-call incident management during the day and vulnerability management support Review and triage security events, escalate to team members when needed

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field
  • Ability to express technical concepts in terms that are understandable to the business and simultaneously ensure confidentiality
  • Must be able to work effectively with other team members across the IT organization, management and business customers
  • Ability to be flexible when changes in work are introduced, and be focused on finding solutions to meet the business needs
  • Able to work with general direction; manage own workload, resolve conflicting priorities and deliver on commitments
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to present and discuss technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding, with coworkers, staff, Human Resources, Law Enforcement and all levels of management
  • Minimum of 3.0 cumulative undergraduate grade point average

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with industry standard tools and technology, which may include application development languages and packages, client/server systems, security (firewalls/encryption products) a plus
  • Experience with Security industry best practices (HIPAA, ISO, NIST, etc.) would be helpful
  • Demonstrated leadership skills for projects in a technology-oriented field
  • An interest in the intersection of technology and healthcare
