About The Position

The Security Operations Center (SOC) Operator for Driftwood Golf and Ranch Club is responsible for maintaining security technology systems, monitoring surveillance systems, and dispatching officers in real-time response to security incidents, potential threats or suspicious activities. This role requires excellent communication, problem-solving skills, high level of focus, and attention to detail, as well as the ability to handle high-pressure and stressful situations with professionalism and tact. This is a full-time hourly position. The role will be located at Driftwood Golf and Ranch Club, set outside of Austin, TX. Driftwood Golf and Ranch Club Security Operations Center Operators are part of a highly professional team of safety and security providers and are encouraged to contribute their knowledge and skill sets for the benefit of the community and department. Driftwood Security Operations Center Operators are responsible for the safety and well-being of all members, guests and team members. A detect, observe, and report posture will be utilized by all Driftwood SOC Operators. However, if the situation requires intervention at any level, Driftwood SOC Operators are to be prepared to act accordingly within the guidelines set forth by the Driftwood Security Department policy. Driftwood SOC Operators must take a "concierge security" approach while working with our distinguished membership. This is not a cyber position.

Requirements

  • Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must have the ability to effectively write reports on incidents.
  • Must have strong customer service skills with the ability to interact effectively with all individuals on property and external agencies.
  • Strong critical thinking skills, able to remain calm and decisive under pressure to dispatch officers to security incidents and emergencies appropriately.
  • Strong observational skills and the ability to document incidents and information with precision.
  • Ability to remain seated or stand for extended periods, monitor screens for long durations, and respond quickly to physical incidents when needed.
  • Must be flexible to work various shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in security, law enforcement, or related fields are highly desirable.
  • Valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • Having a strong knowledge of security protocols, emergency response procedures, and safety regulations is preferred.
  • Familiarity with local laws and regulations related to security and safety in residential communities is preferred.
  • Previous experience in security operations or as a CCTV operator is highly preferred.
  • Prior dispatcher experience highly desired.
  • Prior experience with Genetec.
  • Prior experience flying drones.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a positive and meaningful experience by maintaining excellence as our standard and delivering exceptional customer service with all members, guests, and employees with professionalism and care, while ensuring the security and safety of the community.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of all club amenities and services to assist Community Safety and Security team (CSST), members, and support club operations.
  • Understand and be well-versed on the property, club, and all features and services provided. Will promote the club, facilities and services to enhance the member experience.
  • Continuously monitor various security systems, including video surveillance (CCTV), intrusion detection, fire alarms, access control systems, and other security technologies to identify potential security incidents, escalating unusual or critical event information to relevant supervisory personnel and others.
  • Respond promptly to alarms, security breaches, or any other emergency situations to dispatch and coordinate appropriate action, and ensure all incidents are handled efficiently and professionally.
  • Analyze events, alerts, and real-time data to determine the severity and impact of security threats for follow up or further investigation, and take appropriate action as needed.
  • Regularly assess, operate, and troubleshoot security systems and technologies to identify vulnerabilities, resolve issues promptly, and ensure optimal support for security operations.
  • Work closely with internal departments (e.g., physical security IT, and club operations) to execute coordinated responses and resolve incidents effectively.
  • Liaison with local emergency services and law enforcement agencies to coordinate responses to incidents, maintain effective communication, and provide necessary support as required.
  • Stay informed on emerging threats and trends by monitoring external threat intelligence sources and proactively implementing countermeasures as needed.
  • Exemplify all health and safety policies, procedures, and community rules, to ensure compliance by all individuals to reduce workplace risks and maintain a safe, secure and harmonious environment.
  • Be able to write a detailed account of security incidents, accidents, or violations; documenting findings and preparing detailed reports for management review that took place on property.
  • Assist in conducting investigations and updating supervisory personnel or entities requesting information, in a timely manner.
  • Manage information security in coordination with the IT team to protect the privacy and confidentiality of members and guests.
