As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Badge Patrol in Columbus, OH, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $18.67 / Hour

Job Schedule:
DayTimeFri03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

How This Role Works:
Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.
This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, riders, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government transit location.
• Respond to incidents, service calls, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and sharing information with site contacts when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of transit facilities, public areas, platforms, parking areas, and perimeter locations, noting unusual activity and/or conditions that may need attention.
• Monitor access points and help to deter unauthorized entry, disorderly conduct, and/or policy violations through visible presence and professional interaction.
• Assist with crowd management, directional support, and general public assistance while reporting maintenance concerns, suspicious activity, and other security-related issues according to site procedures.
