About The Position

As a Security Officer Unarmed Patrol Associate in Columbus, OH, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed officer in a dynamic retail and entertainment location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. In this people-first role, you will support a welcoming environment through teamwork, integrity, and a reliable presence while responding to routine concerns and assisting guests, visitors, and staff throughout the property.

Requirements

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to guests, visitors, and/or staff by following site-specific procedures, access guidelines, and appropriate emergency response activities within a high-traffic retail and entertainment location.
  • Respond to incidents, guest concerns, and/or critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, and communicate relevant details to site leadership and Allied Universal management.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the venue, entry points, parking areas, and perimeter to help identify unusual activity and/or security-related concerns.
  • Monitor assigned areas for policy compliance, crowd flow, and/or disruptions, and document observations, incidents, and security-related activities according to site expectations.
  • Support a welcoming environment by assisting with directions, answering general questions, and reporting maintenance, hazards, and/or suspicious behavior to the appropriate personnel.
