About The Position

As a Security Officer TWIC Credential Officer in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Access Control Officer at a dynamic utilities location, where you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, and help manage site access while supporting security-related operations. You may conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help discourage incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. Guided by teamwork, integrity, and a caring culture, you will play an important role in daily site operations.

Requirements

  • A New York State Security Guard License is required.
  • A TSA-issued TWIC is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utility location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and authorization, and document visitor and vehicle activity to help support security-related protocols and controlled access requirements.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around buildings, access points, and perimeter areas, noting unusual conditions and reporting maintenance, access, and/or security-related concerns.
  • Assist with badge checks, contractor sign-in processes, delivery coordination, and other screening activities that help to deter unauthorized access and support daily operations.
