About the position

The primary responsibilities of the Security Officer are to conduct patrols within and outside the facility, respond immediately to emergency and non-emergency calls for assistance and document services provided for each shift. Other responsibilities include contributing to the preservation of life, protection of property and overall safety of the campus for employees, visitors, and patients. The position may be asked to cover at the Elizabethtown Community Hospital or ECH - Ticonderoga Campus locations. Per-diem Officers are not guaranteed work, and hours may be sporadic, depending on the needs of the department.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patrols within and outside the facility
• Respond immediately to emergency and non-emergency calls for assistance
• Document services provided for each shift
• Contribute to the preservation of life and protection of property
• Conduct thorough and fair investigations into inappropriate activity
• Provide education and guidance to staff, visitors, and patients
• Operate and monitor employer supplied security equipment
• Be available for short notice call-in in the event of an emergency
• Maintain confidentiality for all patient PHI
• Work on weekends if needed

Requirements

• High School diploma
• Previous Law Enforcement or Security experience preferred
• Successful completion of all related eligibility requirements for employment
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to evolving situations

Benefits

• Pay Rate: $22.37 - $33.56 per hour
