As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a shelter location, you will complete routine patrols and driving rounds, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, manage access points, and support guests and staff with clear, respectful communication. You will document observations using a computer and/or tablet and respond to concerns with a calm, service-first approach. Requirements
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to residents, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a shelter setting.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation support and timely notifications to site leadership and/or emergency services as required.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, common areas, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify maintenance or operational concerns.
- Control access by monitoring entry points, verifying authorization where required, and maintaining a visible presence to help to deter unauthorized entry and/or policy violations.
- Complete patrol logs and incident reports, observe and report unusual activity, and communicate clearly with Allied Universal management and site personnel during shift turnover and/or changing conditions.
