Security Officer-North Adams Regional Hosptial, Safety and Security, Shift: Varies, Per Diem

About the position

The primary function of a Safety and Security Officer is to perform varied and specified tasks during designated times relating directly to the observation and documentation that all campus facilities, property and personnel are safe, secure and in accordance with developed policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Observe and document that all campus facilities, property and personnel are safe and secure.
• Perform tasks in accordance with established standards.
• React calmly and quickly to diffuse unpredictable situations that may involve physical confrontation.
• Assess potentially violent situations and safely restrain patients and/or visitors when needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Driver's License required.
• Proven ability to perform duties and tasks in accordance with established standards.
• Strong verbal communication, computer and documentation skills.
• Ability to speak, read and write the English language in an understandable manner.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Nice-to-haves

• Security Officer, Corrections Officer, Police Officer experience preferred.
• Intensive behavioral health/residential treatment experience preferred.
• Experience in hospital environment preferred.
• De-escalation training within six months of accepting the position.
