About The Position

As a Security Officer Checkpoint Screener in San Bernardino, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Requirements

  • At least 2 years of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
  • The ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related screening procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Screen employees, visitors, and/or contractors entering the location by using assigned screening equipment, checking permitted items, and referring questions or concerns according to site procedures.
  • Monitor entry points and access activity, verify identification or credentials when required, and help to deter unauthorized entry into restricted areas.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including communicating with court personnel, visitors, and/or first responders as needed.
  • Maintain detailed activity logs and incident reports, observe conditions in public areas, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, and/or policy violations to the appropriate personnel.
