About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Driver in Polkton, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. You will conduct routine patrols across assigned areas, maintain a visible presence that helps to reduce security-related incidents, and respond to requests with clear communication and customer service. Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A valid firearms permit is preferred.
  • An armed guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Carry and maintain issued firearm and related equipment in accordance with Allied Universal policies, post orders, and applicable laws and/or licensing requirements.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including requesting support from on-site staff and/or public law enforcement as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas, checking doors, gates, lighting, and other conditions that may help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor access points and controlled areas, verify identification and/or authorization, document security-related activity in written and/or electronic logs, and report unusual conditions through the chain of command.
