About The Position

As a Security Officer - Alarm Dispatch Desk in Sterling, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Dispatch Officer at a leading tech and telecom location, you will monitor cameras and alarm panels, track activity in real time, and coordinate security-related responses and communications. You will support routine patrols with clear radio and phone dispatch, document incidents using computer and/or tablet tools, and deliver a welcoming customer service experience. Requirements

  • Have at least 1+ years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.

  • Have alarm panel experience, preferred.
  • Have CPR and/or First Aid, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by following Allied Universal security procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology-focused location.
  • Operate the dispatch post by monitoring alarms, CCTV, and access control systems, documenting activity, and notifying appropriate personnel per post orders.
  • Receive and triage calls for service, incidents, and work requests, then coordinate responses with on-site officers and/or client teams using radio, phone, and electronic systems.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, completing detailed reports and escalating issues according to site protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, entrances, and perimeter zones as assigned, helping to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
